One of the driving factors behind starting this business in the first place was a better way to love my family. I realized with 2 young children at home that I needed to be in a position to love them better.
Don't get me wrong, I loved what I did before - I was a pastor at a very large and influential church, and leading a vibrant growing ministry with a team of thousands that I loved dearly - but I knew my family needed me more than church did. So, I decided to step out and start something. I knew it had to be something to help people. I never wanted to just sell insurance, because I wanted to make a difference in people's lives.
The bottom line for us is helping people. That's what it's all about. Here's how we fulfill that purpose with both our clients and our agents.
How We Help Our Clients
We decided from the beginning that we didn't want to sell insurance. We wanted to give people peace of mind. Insurance is just the means to that end. Our clients love their families and the most important thing to them is making sure they're taken care of if, for some reason, they aren't able to do it themselves.
That's why we called the company Covenant Insurance, because there are only a few relationships that are truly a covenant. The relationship between spouses and the relationship between parents and their children qualify for that definition. So we decided to limit what we offer to "insurance for relationships". When your children are young and depend on you we can help you with Life Insurance and Disability Insurance. And, as you get older you don't want to have to depend on your kids, so we can help you with Long Term Care insurance and Medicare policies. As independent insurance brokers we shop around the insurance industry to find the very best companies. We work for our clients, not an insurance company.
How We Help Our Agents
Many of our agents are looking, like I was, for a way to take care of their family with a flexible schedule, doing something that makes a difference. So, we established the agency with them in mind. We make it as smooth and simple as possible to get them started. We train them to make sure they understand the products they sell, sure, but more importantly why they sell it. The why is always the most important thing. When your "why" is right, the what will take care of itself.
We've also made it our goal to help certain groups of people. People who share the same values of family and serving and loving people, but need to earn an income too. For example, we've worked to make Covenant Insurance a great place for pastors and moms to work. Who works harder at loving their family and people than pastors and moms? No one! So we've created a place where they can earn the income their family needs without dramatically changing their lives.
Family is important. Relationships matter. That's why we make it our goal to help you Protect what lasts. And it's why we work hard to help our team be successful.
